Elk Haven is a collection of 5 cabins on a 7 acre property located in the Black Hills, on the edge of Custer, SD. Our Cabins are ideal for families, reunions, hunters and group gatherings ...as well as a romantic getaway for two. Because our cabins are centrally located to all the area's wonderful Black Hills and Mt. Rushmore attractions, it's only minutes until you're back "Home" to rest and enjoy the natural beauty and serenity right off the deck of your Black Hills cabin.
There is a master bedroom with queen bed and closet, with direct access to a spacious bathroom with a shower. The loft area above is divided for privacy and has 2 queen beds. There is also a living and dining room area. Each cabin has a full kitchen with all the amenities of home which include stove, refrigerator, toaster, coffee pot, blender, dinnerware, silverware, pots, pans, cooking utensils, bakeware; everything down to spice rack, dish/hand soap, hand and paper towels. Each Cabin has it own private deck with outdoor furniture, BBQ with tools, and great views of wildlife! Elk Haven is a great space for a family to spread out and get comfortable and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the Black Hills.
Check out our newest property located just 3/4 of a mile up the road past the cabins. The Bluebird's Nest is a brand new garage apartment with a master bedroom and bunk room. It has one Twin XL and one Full size bed in the bunk room, Queen bed in master bedroom, and queen pullout couch in the living room. The kitchen has a full size refridgerator/dishwasher and microwave. Bathroom with double vanity. This location has heat and A/C. Property backs up to Forest Service and view of Crazy Horse. Peaceful and beautiful location.

PETS: Â
We are pet friendly - with a one time $100 plus tax pet fee. Max 2 pets per cabin please.  Pets are not permitted to run free inside of cabin while you are away for the day.  If you do not intend to take your pet with you during your daily excursions, please bring a kennel to use while you are away. If you bring a pet and do not pay the pet fee, we will assess a $200 fee/penalty to your reservation. If you are unsure if you are bringing your pet, you can always let us know and we can collect the fee upon arrival in cash.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS: Â We require a $150 NON REFUNDABLE deposit to hold your reservation. Â Â
RESERVATION PAYMENTS:
 Balances will be charged to original form of payment 60 days prior to arrival.  Our calendar is current. So if we have an opening, it will reflect changes as soon as we receive payment.  We do confirm your cabin once the deposit is made.  You will receive an email outlining the time frame you have to make your deposit payment.  It will not confirm the space until paid.  Final payment is collected 60 days prior to arrival. Â
STURGIS WEEK:  Plan accordingly - we book up fast. Rates for Sturgis Rally are higher

DAMAGE/CLEANING DEPOSIT:Â
We MAY request a credit card on arrival and keep on file for damages. Â We do charge a cleaning fee of $75 - we do expect the cabin to be left in the condition you found it upon arrival. Â Normal cleaning is expected before your departure and we appreciate that all guests respect the property for future guests. Â

We collect a $150 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit on all reservations. Â Full payment is collected 60 days prior to arrival and is NON-REFUNDABLE. Â If you need to cancel for an emergency, please contact us as soon as possible. Â We will open the space up and attempt to re-rent your dates and make refunds on what we are able to re-rent.
